Classification Management Method for Measuring Instruments


The company’s highest-level measurement standards and metrological standard instruments

   I. Scope of Class A Measuring Instruments:

1. The company’s highest metrological standards and metrological standard instruments;

2. Measuring instruments used for trade settlement, safety protection, medical and health care, environmental monitoring, and other such purposes, which are included in the scope of mandatory verification for working measuring instruments;

3. Measuring instruments used for critical parameters in the production process and quality inspection;

4. Measuring instruments used for accounting of materials entering and leaving the factory;

5. Measuring instruments that exhibit high accuracy in precision testing but have poor metrological reliability due to frequent use.

  II. Scope of Class B Measuring Instruments:

1. Measuring instruments used for safety protection, medical and health care, environmental monitoring, and other such purposes, but not included in the scope of mandatory verification for working measuring instruments;

2. Measuring instruments used for non-critical parameters in the manufacturing process;

3. Measuring instruments used for general parameter testing of product quality;

4. Measurement instruments for secondary and tertiary energy metering;

5. Measuring instruments used for internal material management within the enterprise.

  III. Scope of Class C Measuring Instruments:

1. Low-value, consumable measuring instruments that are not subject to mandatory verification;

2. Metering devices for internal energy distribution in the company’s residential area and for auxiliary production;

3. Measuring instruments for which no precise measurement data are required during use;

4. Measuring instruments for which the national metrology administrative department has expressly authorized single-time verification.
